How to access your email

The simplest way to read and send emails from your Australia On Line email address is via our webmail. Our webmail is a full email program you can use via your computer, tablet or phone from anywhere in the world without having to download an app and without having to configure or do setup.

If you prefer an email program on your computer rather than email via the web we recommend Mozzilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird is also a full featured email program and one of the easiest to setup.

We do not recommend Microsoft Outlook as Microsoft appears to have rendered therr most recent outlook versions unusable for use with email services other than their own.

Manual IMAP settings are included below to enable you to configure your own email program on your computer, tablet or phone.

Choose how you would like to access your email

1. Use Webmail

For the simplest option, open Australia On Line Webmail in your browser. There is nothing to install or configure.

2. Use Thunderbird

If you prefer a dedicated email program, we recommend Mozilla Thunderbird. It is free and available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Setting up your email program

If your email program does not configure the account automatically, use these three steps.

Use your full email address

Enter your complete Australia On Line email address as the username, together with your normal email password.

Use IMAP for incoming mail

Set the incoming mail server to imap.ozonline.com.au. IMAP keeps your mailbox synchronised between devices.

Turn on SMTP authentication

Set the outgoing server to smtp.ozonline.com.au and use the same username and password as your incoming mail account.

Use these settings only if your email program asks you to enter the server details manually.

Incoming mail — IMAP

Server: imap.ozonline.com.au
Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email password
Encryption/SSL/TLS/STARTTLS: Yes

Outgoing mail — SMTP

Server: smtp.ozonline.com.au
Authentication: Required
Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email password
Encryption/SSL/TLS/STARTTLS: Yes

Recommended: use encrypted connections where your email program offers them.
